Success at the Shahzada

DRNZ would like to say a huge congratulations to the six DRNZ members who recently took part in the 37th Shahzada (400km) and Mini Shahzada (120km) events in Australia.

Nadine Barker riding Bradali Najmul Fi Samar was 5th in the Mini Shazada in a total riding time of 11.56 followed a second later by Ashley Cole riding Kahuna Moon. Teresa Birkett riding Cedar Ridge Lyric was 17th in a time of 13.18 and Jenny Chandler riding Cedar Ridge Monarch in a time of 13.54.

The four kiwis also rode as a team, Bullio's Kiwis, and were first out of 9 teams overall with four completions and a total time of 37.10.00, what an amazing achievement.

Unfortunately Braden Cameron made the call to withdraw Roswick Ameera after day two (160kms) of the 400km Shahzada due to her being a bit footsore in her boots.  Ash Cole also sadly vetted out after 300km due to a brewing infection from a scratch on Zee Boy Rodney's leg. Bad luck for both Ash and Braden but well done for making it that far on a very challenging course.

Lastly we would like to say a super big thank you to #bullioarabians and Emma Holland who either trained the two NZ horses (Moon and Zee Boy) or supplied Australian horses for our members to ride. Without generous support from you our members would not have had this amazing opportunity.

Well done team.
